On May 21, the International Tibetan Media Organization (ITMO) hosted a panel discussion at the National Endowment for Democracy in Washington, DC, on press freedom and the role of independent journalism in countering China’s official narrative on Tibet.

On June 18, the International Tibetan Media Organization (ITMO) hosted a press conference with Sikyong Penpa Tsering at the Office of Tibet in Washington, D.C. More than 20 Tibetan journalists attended and submitted questions during the session.

We sincerely hope for the prompt restoration and continued strengthening of their Tibetan-language broadcast services, which remain a vital source of information for Tibetans both inside Tibet and in the diaspora.

On behalf of the International Tibetan Media Organization (ITOM), I write to express our profound gratitude for the passage of recent funding legislation by Congress, signed into law by the President, which appropriates critical resources for Voice of America (VOA) and Radio Free Asia (RFA). We look forward to the prompt restoration of their Tibetan-language broadcast services.

On behalf of the International Tibetan Media Organization, together with 147 international Tibet support organizations and eighteen Tibetan-American community groups, we respectfully appeal for the full restoration of Tibetan-language broadcast services at the Voice of America (VOA) and Radio Free Asia (RFA).
